SimpleTexting alternatives, read on the same consent rows

6 alternatives and the baselineVendor claims read 2026-10-22

For a small business that texts customers from SimpleTexting and is weighing a switch: what each alternative documents about opt-in records, STOP and HELP replies, quiet hours, 10DLC registration and double opt-in, with SimpleTexting as the first column, read from its own knowledge base. Every vendor page was read on 2026-10-22. The section after the table covers the part most switchers skip: moving the list without losing the proof that each person agreed. More side-by-sides sit in the comparisons index.

Verdict by use case

Best overall

SlickText

Its own help pages settle more of the nine rows than any other tool here: a compliance line on every opt-in reply, a HELP reply, double opt-in forced on forms, and an opt-out reader that catches "please stop messaging me". Plan around one gap: a 10DLC number goes through your rep, not the in-app form.

Verdict

Best for texting inside each contact's hours

Heymarket

Quiet hours can be checked against each recipient's own time zone, and a scheduled 9 a.m. broadcast lands at 9 a.m. where each contact is. Its import file also takes an opt-out column, so old unsubscribes stay blocked after the move.

Verdict

Best for sales teams that text and call

Salesmsg

One quiet-hours schedule, read against each contact's time zone, holds manual texts, workflows and the AI agent, and flags Power Dialer calls that fall inside it. Double opt-in can be made mandatory for the whole team.

Seven tools, nine texting rows

The rows are the texting requirements every page in the Texting pillar uses, drawn from the FCC's rule (47 CFR § 64.1200) and CTIA's messaging guidelines. SimpleTexting is the first column; "Our pick" marks the best-overall verdict.

What the table says

No vendor's public pages settled two rows: scrubbing against the national and state do-not-call lists, and a stored time and source for each opt-in. Those are the two records you would want first if a complaint arrived, so ask for them by name in every demo, and keep your own copy either way (the Records guides and tools set out the routine).

The FCC rule counts any reply a reasonable person reads as a revocation, not only STOP (the texting rules guide tracks where that rule stands). All seven document automatic handling of STOP-style replies; only SlickText documents an automatic reader for sentences like "please stop messaging me". The rest leave those to a person on your team (the opt-out keywords guide lists what to watch for). Quiet hours split the same way: SimpleTexting's delivery windows follow the account's clock, while Heymarket and Salesmsg check each contact's own time zone. The quiet hours checker shows what that means for a list spread across the country.

Moving your list without losing consent records

Consent belongs to your business, not to the software. The FCC's written-consent definition is an agreement that authorizes "the seller", and CTIA says an opt-in applies to the campaign and the specific sender it was obtained for. A switch keeps the consent; what it can lose is the proof. Take these out of SimpleTexting before anything else.

What to take out of SimpleTexting before switching, where it is, and why the new account needs it
Take outWhere it is in SimpleTextingWhy the new account needs it
Every contact listContacts, then Lists; the three dots beside a list, then Export contacts. The CSV carries the contact fields and, in the far-right column, the inbox messages with that contact. The inbox thread often holds the keyword text or the reply that opted the person in: the closest thing to a timestamped record the export gives you.
Unsubscribed contactsThe Unsubscribed tab on the Contacts page; opted-out numbers also sit on the Local Block List.CTIA asks senders to keep every opt-out on record so no later message is attempted. Import these as opted out, never as fresh contacts.
Proof that lives outside the appYour web form's wording and settings, keyword flyers and signage, paper sign-up sheets, checkout screenshots.CTIA's opt-in record covers the time, the medium, the words shown, the campaign, the IP address, the number and who agreed. Much of that is in your files, not in a CSV.
Your 10DLC registration answersThe registration form you filled in after picking a local number: use case, two sample messages, opt-in method, expected monthly volume.A local number needs a brand and campaign registration at the new provider too, and it asks the same questions. Same answers, same opt-in story.

Five questions for the new vendor before you import

  1. 01Does your import file take an opt-out or opt-in status column, so old unsubscribes stay blocked?
  2. 02Where will each contact's opt-in date and source live after the import, if not in a field of its own?
  3. 03Can my current number come with me, and how long will texting pause while it moves?
  4. 04Who files the new 10DLC brand and campaign registration, and how long does approval usually take?
  5. 05If I turn on double opt-in for imported contacts, what exactly does the confirmation text say?

Two tools in the table answer the first question in their documentation: Heymarket's import file takes an Opt Out column, and SlickText can set each imported contact's status from a column of your own. Keep a copy of the export with the dates you moved; the consent form builder lists the consent fields worth keeping beside it, and the 10DLC registration checklist lists what the new provider's form will ask.

Caution

Export first, cancel last. SimpleTexting recommends saving your data before you cancel, and if you cancel and sign up again you will not get the same toll-free number back. Run both accounts side by side until the new number is registered and the imported opt-outs are confirmed blocked.

Vendor by vendor

Each card repeats the table's rows with the detail from the vendor's own page. Three of them have comparisons of their own: EZ Texting alternatives, Textedly alternatives and SlickText alternatives.

Where each vendor posts its prices

Prices are not stated here: plans, credits and carrier fees change, and some depend on the number type. Each vendor's own page is below. Before you compare plans, check that the one you would buy carries the rows you need, and budget for the 10DLC registration fees the provider passes through (the 10DLC guide explains where they come from).

How we read the claims

Questions switchers ask

Do my contacts have to opt in again when I leave SimpleTexting?

Not because of the move itself. Consent is given to your business, not to the software: the FCC defines prior express written consent as an agreement that authorizes "the seller" to send the messages, and CTIA says an opt-in applies to the campaign and the specific sender it was obtained for. Same business, same kind of messages, and the consent travels, as long as you can still prove it. A new programme, say marketing texts to a list that only agreed to appointment reminders, needs its own opt-in.

What should I export before I cancel?

Every list as a CSV (SimpleTexting's export carries the contact fields and the inbox history), the contacts on the Unsubscribed tab, and the consent evidence that sits outside the app: your web form's wording, keyword flyers, paper sign-up sheets. SimpleTexting itself recommends saving your data before you cancel, and a toll-free number is not given back if you cancel and sign up again later.

Can I keep my SimpleTexting phone number?

Ask both sides before you cancel. SimpleTexting's help pages describe bringing a landline or VoIP number in from another provider (the release step usually takes around 7 business days); the steps for taking a number out are not published, so check with SimpleTexting support and with the new vendor. Either way, a 10DLC number needs a brand and campaign registration at the new provider, and that form asks how you collect opt-ins.

Will people who texted STOP stay blocked after the move?

Only if you bring the opt-outs with you. Heymarket's import file takes an Opt Out column, SlickText lets each imported contact carry its own opt-in status from a column, and Salesmsg can filter and export opted-out contacts. The FCC rule gives a business no more than 10 business days to honour a revocation, and changing software does not restart that clock or erase the request.

Should I send a "reply YES to stay subscribed" text after switching?

Only to people whose consent you can already show, and then mostly as a courtesy. For numbers with no record behind them, the re-permission text is itself a text to someone who never agreed, so talk to counsel first. Some tools can require a confirming reply on the way in: SlickText can switch double opt-in on for bulk imports, and Salesmsg's double opt-in holds every contact until they reply.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Plans, message credits and carrier pass-through fees change often, and several of them depend on the number type. Each vendor's own pricing page is linked in the section above; SimpleTexting also keeps separate help articles on carrier fees for local and toll-free numbers.
