Best mass texting service for sending to a big list

6 services comparedVendor claims read 2026-10-22

For a school, church, gym, club or shop that sends one text to everyone at once: the closure notice, the event reminder, the weekend sale. At that volume one gap in the list repeats a few thousand times, so we read six services' own documentation on 2026-10-22 for the texting rules and for what they do to the list before it goes out. Every status names the page it came from.

Verdict by use case

Best overall for organisation-wide sends

Text-Em-All

It reads replies like "take me off this list" as opt-outs and applies every opt-out to the whole account, voice calls included. Registration is handled for you, and a Require Opt-Ins switch keeps texts to people who joined from their own phone.

Verdict

Best for importing a list you already have

SimpleTexting

Bulk import opens only after its team reviews the list you describe, so the consent question gets asked before the CSV goes in. Contacts keep an opt-in date and source, and each new contact gets a free disclosure text first.

Verdict

Best for a list that sits idle between sends

Textmagic

An optional setting unsubscribes numbers that keep failing to receive, which is how dead numbers usually show up on an old list. Only the person who opted out can opt back in, so a stale STOP cannot be undone by mistake.

Six services, eight texting rows

The rows are the carrier and FCC basics every marketing text needs: a record of the opt-in, the confirmation, STOP and HELP, the hours and registration. "Our pick" marks the best-overall verdict. Five list checks before a send

The table above is about the tool. A broadcast also fails on the list: a number with no consent behind it, an opt-out that only reached one list, a number that changed owners. These five checks come before the send button, and the right-hand column says which of the six tools helps with each. The opt-out wording people actually use is in the opt-out keywords guide, and the database check in our Reassigned Numbers Database guide.

Caution

Two settings undo the work above. Text-Em-All lets you review and reverse its automatic opt-outs, and ClickSend's opt-outs live on a separate list your other lists must be checked against. Reverse an opt-out only when the person asked to rejoin, and never send to a list that skips the opt-out check.

How long a big send takes

Two clocks bind a broadcast. One is the recipient's: no telephone solicitation before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. where they are, and a list spread across zones shares only the hours all of them are awake. The other is the carrier's daily cap on your number, counted in segments. Change the numbers to see both for your own list; registration tiers are in the 10DLC guide, and stricter state hours in the state mini-TCPA guide.

Opted-in numbers only, after suppression.

Counted in 160-character segments, as Text-Em-All counts them.

Ask your provider; SimpleTexting quotes 2,000 a day on average for a standard brand.

  • Shared window, Eastern time11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In local time that is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific. A send that starts at the top of the window and runs past its end needs splitting by zone.

The window is the federal one for telephone solicitations (no earlier than 8 a.m., no later than 9 p.m. where the recipient is). Some states are stricter: check the quiet hours checker for one number, and the segment counter for exact segments with emoji.

text-em-all.com

What it is

A mass texting and voice broadcast service built for organisations that reach a whole community at once: schools, churches, employers, associations. Contacts are uploaded from a spreadsheet and sent to in groups.

Who it fits

Organisations sending the same text to hundreds or thousands of people, often alongside a voice call.

  • Records opt-in with a timestamp and the numberCheck with the vendor

Contacts who text JOIN are added to your list; the help pages do not say whether the time of joining is stored.

  • Sends the opt-in confirmation (program, HELP, STOP, frequency, rates)Check with the vendor

Adds "Reply STOP to stop" to the first text a new contact receives; a full confirmation message is not described.

  • Honours STOP and plain-language revocation automaticallyYes

STOP, QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPT OUT, OPTOUT and REVOKE, plus replies like "Please remove me from your list" or "This is the wrong number". An opt-out covers the whole account, voice included.

  • HELP auto-replyCheck with the vendor

HELP is reserved and cannot be used as a keyword; the reply's wording is not documented.

  • Quiet-hours window by the recipient's time zoneCheck with the vendor

Text-Em-All lists sending hours and time zones among the things the customer controls. A calling window exists for voice broadcasts.

  • 10DLC brand and campaign registration in-productYes

Text-Em-All submits and tracks brand and campaign registration for you and charges no registration fee.

  • Consent records exportableYes

Contact exports include each number's opt-in status; the Opt-Out Report lists every opted-out number.

  • Double opt-in availableYes

A Require Opt-Ins setting (off by default) limits texts to contacts who joined from their own phone by texting JOIN.

Broadcast texting

SimpleTexting

simpletexting.com

What it is

A texting platform for campaigns, keywords, sign-up forms and a shared inbox. Bulk imports are switched on per account after its team reviews the list you plan to upload.

Who it fits

Businesses and organisations moving an existing customer or member list onto texting for the first time.

  • Records opt-in with a timestamp and the numberYes

Contacts carry an opt-in date and an opt-in source (keyword or web form) that segments can filter on.

  • Sends the opt-in confirmation (program, HELP, STOP, frequency, rates)Yes

A free, separate compliance text goes to each new contact: your name, STOP, HELP and message-and-data-rates. Keyword sign-ups add the monthly frequency you set.

  • Honours STOP and plain-language revocation automaticallyCheck with the vendor

STOP unsubscribes the contact and adds the number to the Local Block List, which every later send skips. Other wording is not documented.

  • HELP auto-replyYes

A fixed system reply that gives your company phone number; it cannot be edited.

  • Quiet-hours window by the recipient's time zoneNo

Delivery windows exist on autoresponders, but they follow the account's time zone, not each recipient's.

  • 10DLC brand and campaign registration in-productYes

A 10DLC registration form in the app after you pick a local number; SimpleTexting files it with The Campaign Registry.

  • Consent records exportableCheck with the vendor

Lists export to CSV with contact fields and inbox history; opt-in date and source columns are not listed.

  • Double opt-in availableYes

A per-keyword option: new subscribers reply Y or N before they are added.

SMS marketing

EZ Texting

eztexting.com

What it is

A web-based text marketing platform for campaigns, keywords, sign-up forms and workflows, with local, toll-free and short-code numbers.

Who it fits

Businesses that grow the list mostly through keywords and web forms and send regular promotional blasts.

  • Records opt-in with a timestamp and the numberCheck with the vendor

Its FAQ says keywords and web sign-up forms create the documented opt-in record carriers and the TCPA require; the fields kept (time, number) are not listed.

  • Sends the opt-in confirmation (program, HELP, STOP, frequency, rates)Yes

A keyword sign-up gets the confirmation message you wrote, sent automatically.

  • Honours STOP and plain-language revocation automaticallyCheck with the vendor

STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT remove the contact automatically. The FAQ says plain-language opt-outs must also be honoured, without saying the platform catches them.

  • HELP auto-replyCheck with the vendor
  • Quiet-hours window by the recipient's time zoneNo

Scheduled messages go out on the time zone set on the account, not the recipient's; the FAQ advises 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the recipient's time zone.

  • 10DLC brand and campaign registration in-productYes

An in-app A2P application: Standard registration for under 1,000 messages a day, High-Volume Vetted above that.

  • Consent records exportableCheck with the vendor
  • Double opt-in availableYes

Offered to every account; required in some cases, such as age-gated content.

How we read the claims

Questions buyers ask

Can we text everyone in our customer database?

Not on the strength of having their numbers. For marketing texts sent by an automatic dialing system, the FCC rule asks for prior express written consent: a written agreement, bearing the person's signature, that clearly authorises the messages and names the number they go to (47 CFR § 64.1200(f)(9)). CTIA adds that senders should not use opt-in lists that have been rented, sold or shared. A number from a receipt, a sign-in sheet or a CRM export is a contact, not a subscriber.

What if someone replies "please stop texting me" instead of STOP?

It counts. The rule names seven reply words (stop, quit, end, revoke, opt out, cancel, unsubscribe) and also any other words a reasonable person would read as a request to revoke, and the request must be honoured within ten business days (47 CFR § 64.1200(a)(10)). Text-Em-All and SlickText (with Opt-Out Intelligence on) read plain-language replies; the other four document their keywords only, so someone has to read the inbox.

How many texts can one number send in a day?

Carriers decide, by registered use case and vetting score, and each segment counts as a message (160 plain GSM-7 characters for a one-part text, 153 per part of a longer one). SimpleTexting quotes T-Mobile limits of 1,000 a day for a sole proprietor and an average of 2,000 for a standard brand; Text-Em-All quotes 1,000 to 200,000 a day depending on carrier. A 4,800-contact list and a two-segment text is 9,600 messages: about five days at a 2,000 cap. Vetting can raise a cap, but SimpleTexting is clear that a higher limit is not guaranteed.

Do we have to check the Reassigned Numbers Database?

No law makes you check it, but it is the only safe harbor for texting a number that changed hands: you must have had consent, checked the database before sending, and received a wrong "no". Providers must wait at least 45 days before reassigning a disconnected number and report disconnections every month, so an old list is where the risk sits. None of the six tools here describes running the check for you.

Does a mass texting service make our texts TCPA-compliant?

No. The tool carries out your settings; the consent, the content and the timing are yours, as SimpleTexting, SlickText and EZ Texting each say on their own pages. A violation costs $500 per call or text, up to three times that ($1,500) if the court finds the violation willful or knowing, and on a broadcast that is multiplied by the list. The revocation rules are also moving: the FCC adopted new ones in FCC 26-67 on 30 September 2026, and they take effect 30 days after Federal Register publication, which had not happened when we read on 2026-10-22.
