Textedly alternatives, and what to ask Textedly before you stay or switch
6 alternatives and the baseline6 questions for Textedly6-setting auditVendor claims read 2026-10-22
For the owner or office manager who texts customers from Textedly and wonders whether to move. Textedly's help centre blocks outside readers, so this page reads what it publishes in the open: feature pages, pricing and its Terms of Service. Those settle 3 of the nine texting rows and leave 6 open. Below: Textedly and 6 alternatives on the same rows, the questions to send Textedly, and a six-setting audit to run on whichever tool you keep. Every vendor page was read on 2026-10-22; more side-by-sides sit in the comparisons index.
Verdict by use case
Best overall
The nearest like-for-like move from Textedly, keywords, forms and campaigns, and it puts in writing two things Textedly's pages leave open: a reader that can opt out a reply like "please stop messaging me", and an automatic HELP reply. Schedule by time-zone segment yourself, since campaigns go out on the account's clock.
Best for proving when each person agreed
With Secondary Consent no agent can text a contact until they reply YES, and the contact record shows the date and time consent was given or refused. It honours single-word opt-outs only, so someone must still read the inbox.
Best for online stores
Quiet hours are on by default in each recipient's time zone, an intent reader catches plain-word opt-outs, and the contacts export carries SMS opt-in and opt-out dates. SMS sign-ups are single opt-in, and US texting runs on a toll-free number.

Six open rows, three settled
The nine rows every page in the Texting pillar uses, drawn from the FCC's rule (47 CFR § 64.1200) and CTIA's messaging guidelines. They run in the order a Textedly user meets them: first the six its public pages leave at "Check with the vendor", then the three they settle. Textedly is the first column; "Our pick" marks the best-overall verdict.

What the table says
Textedly settles the sign-up end well: an automatic confirmation on web-form sign-ups, a reply-YES double opt-in and number registration inside the dashboard. The open rows sit at the other end, after people join: what happens to their replies, which clock a campaign runs on, and what record proves they agreed. On the hardest row, an opt-out in plain words, two alternatives document an automatic catch: SlickText's Opt-Out Intelligence and Omnisend's intent detection. Textline's page says single-word commands only. The texting rules guide explains why that row carries the most risk.
Recipient-clock sending is documented by Trumpia, Heymarket and Omnisend; SlickText's campaigns and SimpleTexting's autoresponder windows follow the account's time zone. A stored opt-in date shows up at SimpleTexting, Textline and Omnisend, and only Omnisend lists it in an export. No vendor's public pages settled do-not-call scrubbing, so treat that as your own job wherever you text from (the do-not-call rules cover it).
Six questions for Textedly
One question per open row, with what Textedly's own pages and terms say today. Send them to its support team before you renew or cancel, and keep the reply: a written answer settles a row the way a help article would. Under each, the alternatives whose pages already answer "Yes".
- 01
Which replies opt a contact out on their own, and does anything act on a sentence like "please stop texting me"?
Textedly's pages: The compliance page lists "Automatic Unsubscribe Detection" without naming the words. The terms say a reply other than STOP will "appear in your inbox. You are solely responsible for monitoring messages received in your inbox" and for honouring the request.
Row: Honours STOP and plain-language revocation automatically
Yesin writing at SlickText, Omnisend
- 02
What does a texted HELP get back, and can I put my business name and a phone number in it?
Textedly's pages: The site describes the service as "STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help". The wording of the HELP reply, and who sets it, is not described.
Row: HELP auto-reply
Yesin writing at SlickText, SimpleTexting, Trumpia
- 03
Which time zone does a scheduled campaign use, and can a send wait for each recipient's local morning?
Textedly's pages: The scheduler takes a date and a time. The terms ask you to "abide by any time restrictions for transmitting 'marketing' communications", which puts the clock on you.
Row: Quiet-hours window by the recipient's time zone
Yesin writing at Trumpia, Heymarket, Omnisend
- 04
For a keyword, web-form or QR sign-up, what do you store: the date and time, the keyword or form, and the wording the person saw?
Textedly's pages: The CSV import template has columns for phone, name, email, address, company, tags and birth date, and none for an opt-in date or source. The terms say you keep "proof, which you shall retain, of each user's consent".
Row: Records opt-in with a timestamp and the number
Yesin writing at SimpleTexting, Textline, Omnisend
- 05
Does the contact export include each contact's opt-in date, opt-in source and opt-out date?
Textedly's pages: "Your data is yours, so you can export your contact list at any time." The columns in that export are not listed.
Row: Consent records exportable
Yesin writing at Omnisend
- 06
Do you check numbers against the National Do Not Call Registry, and does your reassigned-number check query the FCC's Reassigned Numbers Database?
Textedly's pages: Signal AI filters landlines, flags deactivated numbers and runs a "Reassigned Phone Number Assessment". A registry scrub is not described, and the page does not say which database the assessment uses.
Row: National and state DNC scrubbing
Check with the vendorat all 6 alternatives too: ask whichever tool you pick
A texting setup audit
Vendor pages tell you what a tool can do; a test on your own number tells you what your account does today. Six settings, each a five-minute test from a staff phone with the rule behind it. Run it on Textedly now and on any trial account before you move a list, mark each result, then print the sheet or copy it into your records. The TCPA compliance checklist covers the rest of the program.
0 pass0 fail6 not tested
01The seven opt-out words
- Test
- From a staff phone on your list, reply STOP. Join again (some numbers need START or UNSTOP first) and repeat with QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL and UNSUBSCRIBE.
- Pass if
- Every word opts the phone out, and each gets one confirmation with no marketing in it.
- The rule
- The FCC rule names these seven replies as reasonable ways to revoke, to be honoured within 10 business days; one confirmation text without marketing is allowed (47 CFR § 64.1200(a)(10), (a)(12)).
02An opt-out in plain words
- Test
- Reply "please stop texting me", then "take me off your list", from the staff phone.
- Pass if
- The phone is opted out by the tool, or a named person sees the reply the same working day and opts it out by hand.
- The rule
- Other words count if a reasonable person would read them as a request to revoke (§ 64.1200(a)(10)); CTIA asks that opt-outs in normal language be read and acted upon (§ 5.1.3).
03The HELP reply
- Test
- Text HELP to your texting number.
- Pass if
- The reply names your business and gives a phone number, email or web address where a person answers.
- The rule
- CTIA's opt-in confirmation calls for customer care contact information, such as a phone number or HELP instructions (§ 5.1.2.1).
04The first text after sign-up
- Test
- Join once by keyword and once by your web form or QR code, from two staff phones.
- Pass if
- Each first text carries all five parts: the program name, customer care or HELP, how to opt out, that messages recur and how often, and the fees line.
- The rule
- CTIA lists those five parts for a recurring programme's confirmation (§ 5.1.2.1).
05The clock a scheduled send uses
- Test
- Find the time-zone setting behind scheduled campaigns, then schedule a 9 a.m. test to a staff phone with an area code three hours behind yours.
- Pass if
- The send waits for that phone's morning, or you split the list by time zone and schedule each group inside 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The rule
- No telephone solicitation before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. at the called party's location (§ 64.1200(c)(1)). Several states are stricter; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday clears every state law we have read.
06A consent record you can pull
- Test
- Pull up one contact who joined by keyword last month and one who came in on an imported spreadsheet.
- Pass if
- For each you can show when they agreed, how (keyword, form, paper) and the words they saw, from the export or your own files.
- The rule
- CTIA's opt-in record covers the timestamp, the consent medium, the language used, the campaign, the IP address, the number and who agreed, and asks senders to keep every opt-in and opt-out (§§ 5.1.2, 5.1.5).
Vendor by vendor
Each card repeats the table's rows with the detail from the vendor's own page. Two alternatives have comparisons of their own: SlickText alternatives and SimpleTexting alternatives; for broadcasts to a large list, see the mass texting comparison. Before you register a new number, the 10DLC registration checklist lists what carriers ask for.

How we read the claims
Questions Textedly users ask
Does Textedly opt people out when they reply in their own words?
Its public pages don't say. The compliance page lists "Automatic Unsubscribe Detection" without naming the words it reads, and the Terms of Service (last updated 2026-01-08) say a reply other than STOP lands in your inbox, where monitoring it and honouring the request is your job. The FCC rule counts any reply a reasonable person would read as a request to stop, and gives you no more than 10 business days to honour it. Until Textedly answers in writing, run the plain-words test in the audit above and have someone read the inbox every working day.
Can I move my Textedly subscribers without asking them to opt in again?
Consent belongs to your business, not to the software: the FCC's written-consent definition is an agreement that authorizes the seller, and CTIA says an opt-in applies to the campaign and sender it was obtained for. Same business, same kind of messages, and the consent carries over, as long as you can prove it. Each alternative here makes you vouch for an imported list: SimpleTexting and SlickText have you tick an agreement to their terms at import, Trumpia opens imports only after an import certification, and Textline imports consent only when an admin allows it. Import your opted-out numbers as opted out before anything else.
Do I own my Textedly keyword and number?
Not under its terms. They say keywords and SMS codes, which they define to include 10-digit local and toll-free numbers, are owned or controlled by Textedly, and that your licence gives you no ownership of them; Textedly may also reclaim a keyword unused for 30 days. Your contact data stays yours. Before you print a keyword or number on anything new, ask Textedly in writing whether the number can be ported out, and plan for a new keyword at the next tool.
Does Textedly's reassigned-number check give me the FCC safe harbor?
Not as its page describes it. Signal AI's Reassigned Phone Number Assessment is Textedly's own check that a number still belongs to the person who opted in. The safe harbor in 47 CFR § 64.1200(m) protects you only when you queried the FCC's Reassigned Numbers Database and it wrongly answered "no", and it covers the consent rules, not do-not-call. Ask Textedly whether its check queries that database; if not, the database is a separate paid subscription.
Will my 10DLC registration move with me?
Plan on registering again. SimpleTexting, Heymarket and Textline take the 10DLC details inside their own apps, SlickText arranges a 10DLC number through a representative, and Trumpia's FAQ sends you to its support team. None of the pages we read describes taking over a campaign registered elsewhere, so ask before you cancel. Have your SMS terms and privacy policy live on your own site first: Textedly's compliance page notes that carriers require a privacy policy on file.
Is the opt-out rule about to change?
An FCC order adopted on 2026-09-30 (FCC 26-67) lets a sender name one exclusive way to revoke, such as replying with a standard word, if it is clearly disclosed in the text. It takes effect 30 days after Federal Register publication, and it had not been published when we checked on 2026-10-22, so it is adopted but not yet in effect. Until then any reasonable method counts, which is why the plain-words test matters, and the 10-business-day limit stays either way.
